Advanced Research on Perception
In the early 20th century special attention was given to:
- The act of perceiving something
- The object directly perceived
- That which can be said to be known as a result of perceiving. (Web)

Under Article “Perception”
In philosophy, psychology, and the cognitive sciences, perception is the process of attaining awareness or understanding of sensory information.
The word comes from the Latin words percept, perception, and means “receiving, collecting, action of taking possession, apprehension, with the mind or sense.
Under Article “Imagination”
When two existing perceptions are combined within the mind the resultant third perception is referred to as its synthesis and on occasion a fourth called antithesis, which at that point exists only as part of the imagination, can often become the inspiration for a new invention or technique.
“Perception is the process of recognizing and interpreting sensory stimuli. Learn the definition of perception, how it is related to the five senses, how it differs from reality, and more”
Watch the Lessons Regarding Perception is Greater than Reality
Is Perception Subjective Knowledge? Not exactly so. We can not do without perception. One has to perceive through the inputs one gains through his five senses. Setting apart all mathematical and scientific knowledge, all other knowledge bears a tinge of ones own personality and environment. It describes the Relative Value of Subjectivity and Objectivity to Link Physical and Metaphysical Abstractions. Or perhaps Perception is half of the total knowledge.
Why it is said that Perception is Stronger than Fact. When a Wrong perception gets favor with the majority of the people, and that perception is related to religion. It takes ages to apply correction. And if you apply a reformation, the mobs will wipe out every things around. That is how Perception is Stronger Than Reality.
There is a distance between perception and fact. Mostly facts are in a state of silence. But perception is transmitted from one individual to another individual or to public at large.Maybe a perception is wrong. But when public will react to it. This response will trigger a chain-reaction and will spread like an epidemic. And you know what public does. It stages demonstrations. And consequently mob violence is triggered. Some time it will overthrow governments. Hence the power and importance of perception.
Perception is one of the most important aspects of human behavior. Depending on how we perceive things, we may see the glass either as half-empty or as half-full.

3. ORIGIN OF PERCEPTION
Tools of Perceiving: Five Senses, Feeling and Thinking are tools or devices for perceiving.Humans collect knowledge through five senses i.e. touching, smelling, tasting, hearing and seeing. Last two that is hearing and seeing are mostly used in comprehending conceptual world extends to the expressing, discussing and analyzing hypothesis, theories and a chaos of conflicting opinions.
OUTFIT FOR SHAPING PERCEPTION
- Ones background and Upbringing
- Basic Education
- Some special training
- Purpose at the moment to perceive
- Mood at the moment of perceiving
- Tours in the country and abroad
ASSUMPTIONS AND PERCEPTION
Are perceptions generated by assumptions or assumptions generated by perception?
Check in: Knowledge With All Its Branches
This is a ticklish question. The possibility exists both ways. Perception is related to eye or mind’s eye. On the other hand assumption means ‘assuming something’ or ‘some assumed or supposed thing that one takes for granted’.

4. CAN PERCEPTION BE MANIPULATED?
Perceiving of Basic Concepts is Pivotal for Accuracy of Following Subsidiary Perceptions:
i. Concept of God
ii. Concept of Man
iii. Concept of Universe
Only a person with normal background will be able to conceive these basic concepts normally. The more his background is at variance with the normal, the more his perception of reality is affected. He tends to visualize or perceive things with some deviations good or bad from the normal.Normal is the best. A deviation, though considered good, can not be so in the long run.
5. ENSURING ACCURACY OF PERCEPTION
MAKING PERCEPTION MORAL – THEISTIC INFUSION
Interaction of unshakable beliefs and fresh perceptions result into a variety of viewpoints.Perceiving phenomenon of life with the concept of God as its center is normal. But Perceiving without making God as its center, makes the overall perception eccentric and abnormal.
In most of the cultures people from childhood are taught and trained that when they face some difficulty they should invoke the help of God. This is so as we are still taught and we continue to practice it solemnly.
See Some Theistic Inputs Here: Monotheism.
Ceremonially though, individually and collectively we observe it in our trying times. If a culture doesn’t believe in God it may invoke some spirit, some heavenly body like sun, moon or some deity. But how an absolute atheist may teach his children to seek help in difficult times. In other words he is condemned not to visualize any unseen entity to call for help.
An international concept of religion has emerged from the blending of essential and common components of all the major religions of the world. That He is Omnipotent, Omniscient. And that He is God and He is managing the affairs of this world. When a sincere person seeks His help, he responds.
A SPECIAL CASE – FACTORS PUSHING TOWARDS MAIN WORLDVIEW THAT MAKES ONE THEIST
Death: Certainty is exemplified by the mention of death as in the proverb: As sure as death. Death is certain and also has no timetable. Hence the proverb that death keeps no calendar. Death points to the life after death. Though death is the termination of ones life, it is the start of another life that will be more pronounced in its expression of pain and pleasure. That is why the instinctive belief in the life after death is universal. It is second only to the belief in one God. Death constitutes a tragic spectacle – departing from ones loved ones, and all the paraphernalia of ones life. Next is the Old age which is beaconing us to fast approaching death.
Human’s are neither born nor die of their own accord. Mostly they are not happy with the family of their origin and wish “were they be born in some very rich and influential families so that they may have bigger material fortunes”. Mostly they leave world unwillingly at a time, at a place and in a condition not of their own accord. Only Nafs-e-Mutma-inna are ready to leave this world willingly. But this category of belief is found only in the ratio of 1 to 1 million in the world.
6. DISTORTION OF PERCEPTION
A Special Case – Factors Pushing Away From Main Worldview That Makes One Atheist (Social and Economic Inequality vis-à-vis Behavior of Theists)
As Holy Prophet (PBUH) states that poverty below a certain level may confiscate faith. A destitute human’s trust in God is shaken. When a human is without food, shelter, clothing and other basic necessities of life. He is impelled to start thinking that God is not Merciful to him. A sense of chaos begins to be shared by him. Along with other like-minded people contributing to a school of thought. Which is brain-child of philosopher like Natchez. Callous behavior of theists promotes this type of thinking. Theists usually draw support from the logic that they are God’s favorite people. And God has favored them with wealth.
Families living under the poverty line have neither access to proper education of their children nor health care. While proper housing, security and food are already lacking. Hence the perceptions of people living under these will also be defective. Some young people living under these coercive conditions may resort to crime. Thus beginning of chaos in the society.
ROLE OF KNOWLEDGE IN ENHANCING ONES PERCEPTION
It seems that Saints’ Right brain is more activated than the ordinary people. That is why they have clairvoyance. Some time they have foreknowledge of things. Here an extract to prove the saintly or prophetic characteristics of Right Brain:
“The Right Brain
According to the left-brain, right-brain dominance theory, the right side of the brain is best at expressive and creative tasks. Some of the abilities that are popularly associated with the right side of the brain include:
- Recognizing faces
- Expressing emotions
- Reading emotions
The Left Brain
The left-side of the brain is considered to be adept at tasks that involve logic, language and analytical thinking. The left-brain is often described as being better at:
- Critical thinking
7. ILLUSIONS CREATED BY WRONG PERCEPTIONS
Mistaken perception converts into illusion. Nobody knows its lifespan. International illusions like the geocentric concept of Universe. Which held its sway for thousands of years in the academic world. It was supported by many scholars from Aristotle to Ptolemy. It proves how nourishing are illusions and fancies for mankind to pull on. Some illusions in the religious field are most wonderful. But they are considered fixed dogmas.
The first is the Concept of Universe propounded by Ptolemy(90-168 A.D). His model is called geocentric. He presented the universe as a set of nested spheres. It further explained that Earth is center of the Universe and the sun revolves around the earth. This doctrine was enshrined by Bible and supported by Church. First time it was refuted by Copernicus in his book “De revolutionibus”. He presented a heliocentric model of universe. According to this theory center of this universe is earth and that sun does revolve around the Earth instead Earth revolving around the sun.
The Church also warned him to repudiate his heretical views. But when he defended his views by publishing his book “Dialogue concerning the two chief world systems” in 1932, he was again called by the Inquisition and found “vehemently suspect of heresy”. He was forced to disown is views and spent rest of his life under house arrest.
A thief was also to be crucified on that day. The soldiers put the Jesus on cross. They nailed him. But the dust storm that they had already seen was in the air, overtook them. They were in a hurry. They nailed him half-way and half-heatedly and took him off the cross. They handed over the body to his disciples.
The disciples took him to a cave. Where they visited him for three days, providing him food and medicine. They applied balm of Eesa (Jesus) on his wounds. He was quickly cured of wounds. When fully recovered he left the cave for an unknown destination.
